Hindi Day is celebrated every year on 14 September. On 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi in the Devanagari script as the official language of the Union of India. To commemorate this occasion, Hindi Day is celebrated every year on 14 September.
On the occasion of Hindi Day, a Hindi Quiz Competition and a Group Poetry Recitation Competition were organised at St. Xavier’s High School. Students from Classes V to IX participated enthusiastically in these competitions.
Group Poetry Recitation Competition
Students of Classes V and VI participated in the Group Poetry Recitation Competition, which was held on Thursday, 10 September 2026, in the school auditorium.
The students participated with great enthusiasm and presented their poems with excitement and joy. Dressed according to the themes of their respective poems, they added colour and vibrancy to the event.
Two judges were invited to evaluate the performances. Mr. Tiwari Sir guided and encouraged the students throughout the event. Based on the marks awarded by the judges, the winning class was presented with a gift and felicitated.
Hindi Quiz Competition
Students from Classes VII to IX participated in the Hindi Quiz Competition, which was held on Thursday, 10 September 2026, in the school auditorium.
The quiz was designed to enhance students’ vocabulary and knowledge of the Hindi language. It included questions related to Hindi literature, one-word substitutions, identification of poets, poetesses, authors and authoresses through pictures, word puzzles, and the significance of Hindi Day.
The participating students displayed great enthusiasm and prepared well with their respective groups. The enthusiasm of the students present in the auditorium was remarkable, making the event lively and engaging.
The winning group, along with the other participating teams, was honoured with certificates in recognition of their participation and efforts.
