St. Xavier’s High School, Fort celebrated the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour, and a strong spirit of unity. This year, the Primary students joined the Secondary Section for the Republic Day programme, making the celebration even more meaningful. The event was thoughtfully planned to help students understand the significance of the Indian Constitution and to instil love and respect for the nation from a young age.
The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the Tricolour, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The students solemnly took the Pledge and read the Preamble, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of the Constitution. The State Song was melodiously rendered by the boys of the Secondary Section.
The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were then introduced and felicitated. This was followed by a spectacular Mass Drill performed by students from Standards 1 to 8. The synchronised movements set to patriotic music reflected discipline, coordination, and teamwork.
Adding colour and grace to the programme, students of Standards 3 and 4 presented a medley of patriotic songs, which was greatly appreciated by the audience. This was followed by an impressive March Past with Torch by the same students, symbolising courage, unity, and the guiding light of the Constitution.
To encourage creativity and self-expression, various competitions were organised across classes.
• Standard 1 students participated in a Drawing and Colouring activity, expressing their love for the nation through vibrant colours and imaginative artwork.
• Standard 2 students took part in a Poetry Competition, confidently reciting patriotic poems with great enthusiasm and expression.
• Essay Writing Competitions were conducted for Standards 3 and 4, providing students an opportunity to articulate their thoughts on freedom, unity, and national pride.
• Further energizing the celebration, students of Standards 3 and 4 also presented well-coordinated patriotic dance performances, which received warm appreciation from all.
The Republic Day celebration was a meaningful and memorable experience for everyone present. It reinforced the values of patriotism, discipline, and respect for the nation. The enthusiastic participation of students and the dedicated efforts of the teachers contributed to the grand success of the programme.
