St. Xavier’s High School celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit on 26th January 2026. The programme commenced at 7:45 a.m. and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students, parents, and staff members.
The occasion was graced by our Chief Guest, Mr. Shankar Madhukar Mugalkhod, and Guest of Honour, Ms. Cecilia Gracias. The programme was also honoured by the presence of our respected Principal, Sr. Thresia Sini, Primary Head Teacher, Sr. Victoria Damala, and Secondary Supervisor, Mrs. Elaine Fernandes.
The celebration began with the Flag Unfurling Ceremony held in the Stone Hall, followed by the main programme on the school turf. The Chief Guest was introduced by Mrs. Prajakti D’Souza, after which the Principal felicitated him. Mrs. Maria D’Souza introduced the Guest of Honour, and she was felicitated by Sr. Victoria Damala.
A spectacular Mass Drill was performed by students from Std. I to Std. IX, showcasing discipline, unity, and coordination. This was followed by an inspiring speech by the School Vice-Captain. The programme continued with an energetic and colourful dance performance by the primary students, which was highly appreciated by the audience.
The Chief Guest then addressed the gathering, sharing motivating words and emphasizing the values of patriotism and responsibility. Subsequently, the primary students proceeded to the quadrangle for the March Past, while the secondary students rendered a patriotic song, filling the atmosphere with national pride.
Later, Sr. Thresia Sini addressed the students, encouraging them to uphold the ideals of the Constitution. The programme also included the distribution of Scholarships and the School Honour of the Year for 2024–2025, which were presented by the dignitaries. Students were also felicitated for winning trophies in the PVCC T20 Tournament.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Master Rameez Khan, marking the successful completion of a memorable and meaningful Republic Day celebration.
